Touraine is an incredible wine region, with rivers such as The Cher, Indre and Vienne ebbing and flowing throughout the region, gifting unique expressions to each village's wine.
This region produces white, red and rose wine in both still and sparkling styles. There is a long list of permitted grape varieties including Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc for white wine, and Cabernet Franc, Cot (aka Malbec), Gamay and Pinot Noir for its reds.
Whatever style of wine you prefer, Touraine will have something to interest and delight your tastes. With such a diverse array of wine available it is the perfect region to compare grape varieties and develop, or further, your understanding of terroir and the effects that different soil types, vine age and vineyard location has on the finished product.
